Ketel Thorstenson, LLP Gains Williston Office with Merger

Beth-Hottel-headshotThe Ketel Thorstenson foot print expanded to Williston, North Dakota this year. On Nov. 1, 2013 through a merger with Rustad + Furuseth, Certified Public Accountants, P.C. a new office was added to the KTLLP team.

This merger will provide clients in North Dakota, South Dakota and Wyoming a wider array of services through more depth of expertise. Our capabilities include: Audit Services, Tax Planning and Preparation, Bookkeeping, QuickBooks, Payroll, Business Valuations, Management Consulting, Estate Planning and more.

Joni Rustad and Laurie Furuseth started Rustad + Furuseth, CPA’s, P.C. in 1987 and have served many individuals and businesses in the Williston area. The Rustad + Furuseth staff will be retained in their current roles. Joni and Laurie will stay on through tax season and to assist with the merger. Then both partners will be moving forward with other opportunities. Ketel Thorstenson, LLP began its professional practice in Rapid City in 1936. The firm has grown by merger or acquisition with over 12 smaller practices in the black Hills area since that time.

New staff additions include: Jeff Stulken, CPA, has thirty years of accounting and tax experience, has transferred from Rapid City, Kevin Johnson, CPA, Williston native and graduate of the University of North Dakota, and Abby Vinger, Williston native and recent graduate of Minot State University.

“Rustad + Furuseth, CPA’s, P.C. shares the same values we do. We promise to continue their tradition of excellent service and a friendly environment,” said Brent Siekman, a partner in the Rapid City office who is overseeing the merger.

An Open House was held on Nov. 5, 2013 at the Williston State College Alumni room to give clients the opportunity to meet the additions to the staff. A ribbon cutting with the Williston Area Chamber of Commerce took place on Dec. 3, 2013.

The merged firm has kept the same office, address and phone, 603 Main, Williston, North Dakota 58802, 701-774-3836. Ketel Thorstenson, LLP also has offices in Rapid City, Custer and Spearfish South Dakota.
